This week CLS partnered up with the Djindas Netball Club and are thrilled to sponsor the club for the 2023 season.
Djindas Netball Club is led by their President, former Fremantle and North Melbourne Premiership player, Winston Abraham and his wife Katie Abraham. Both Winston and Katie play active roles in the club, holding down multiple roles including Coach and Managers for the different teams.
A brief background on the club – Djindas is a Noongar word for star. Originally, several girls participated in local and regional competitions and in 2020 the club was officially formed. The club’s main aim is to support young indigenous and non-indigenous girls through netball. The club gives these girls the opportunity to play a sport they love in a safe and secure environment.
Over the club’s short life, the club has grown and now has the following –
- 10 teams ranging from Netters to open A.
- 17 Association representatives
- 2 State representative
- Last year the club took home 5 premierships.
No doubt with strong leadership the club will continue to grow and support these kids all the way up through to senior levels.
Go Djindas stars!
